Q?: When was the FFH Foundation formed and why?
The FFH Foundation was incorporated in August of 1995 as the “Farmington Hills Community Foundation for Children, Youth and Families”. At that time its purpose was support of the After-School Program for middle school students. That service, administered through the City of Farmington Hills, was operating under a Juvenile Justice System grant that was about to expire. In March of 1999 the name was changed to the “Farmington Hills/Farmington Community Foundation, reflecting a broader outreach to both communities.
In 2006, we formed an affiliation with the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and changed our name from the “Farmington Hills/Farmington Community Foundation” to the “Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families” (FFH Foundation).
Q?: What does the FFH Foundation do exactly?
The Foundation provides financial support to a wide range of non-profit organizations that enhance the life of citizens of Farmington Hills and Farmington. The Foundation provides support to families of elementary school students in the school district with the Back Pack Program.
